Fadesa’s contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals

Currently, sustainability is no longer an option, it is a necessity! Developing responsible business practices, combined with innovation and joint efforts with our stakeholders, will undoubtedly generate important changes in our company and, above all, in our community.

For this reason, at Fadesa we see the Global Pact and its 10 universal principles as an opportunity to communicate and formalize our commitment to the future, through ongoing work aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, with regards to communication, we have taken advantage of this world initiative to improve our relationship with interest groups, by informing them about our actions related to human rights and the environment.

Among our initiatives to achieve these goals of vital importance for the planet, we highlight the LEED certification obtained by our plant in Jaramijó, which was built with the least environmental impact in mind.

Furthermore, since our main activity is the manufacturing of metal and plastic packaging solutions, we are working on reducing the use of materials in packaging through optimization and reduction of thicknesses, thus not only innovating our processes and products but also contributing to sustainability and environmental care by using less raw materials.

On the other hand, we seek to innovate our processes and products. For this reason, in our Plastic plant we reuse a high percentage of scrap materials in our own manufacturing processes and the remaining amount enters third party recycling cycles. Moreover, in packaging for the industrial sector, we have developed methodologies for the incorporation of recycled resins, maintaining the quality and performance characteristics of our plastic packaging.

These are some of the actions with which we hope to actively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the short and medium term. At the same time, we have decided to actively participate in the SDG working groups and we are projecting ourselves into the future within the framework of the Global Compact and the 2030 Agenda!
